Planning 2016 In Dialed Back Style

Last year I got sucked into the whole decorate your planner craze.  It is such an addiction that I cannot begin to fund it and still pay my bills.  Much common sense has had to go into purchases of stickers and washi tape.

Many get really crazy with the amount of stickers used on a week in their planner, to a point that my brain could not begin to figure out what I was doing each week if this is what my planner looked like:

Like, um total confusion for me, too OCD I guess to manage that one.  As it is my Christmas week layout looked like this:

Still a bit of over kill even for me of late.  Honestly, decorating my planner has really helped me to actually USE it more, though this photo above doesn’t really show that,  I worked most every day this past week so it wouldn’t have much on it.

Erin Condren is the brand I use, and I LOVE this planner.  I was torn on this layout or an hourly one, but I love the open spaces to make notes so stuck with this type of layout for 2016.  I didn’t like the horizontal spread one bit so that narrowed my choices fast.

No doubt I will decorate, but with minimal stickers and washi, minimizing the cluttered feel and look. It just doesn’t work for me so much anymore.

As I head into 2016, organization and planning is the name of the game for me.  What about you, what are your ways of getting organized and charting your course each week?

Wine & Cheese ~ 83rd Serving

wine n cheeseWelcome to Wine & Cheese, my weekly, Wednesday whine session.

Every week on Wednesday I devote a blog to whining. Despite being a really happy, positive person, I do have things that annoy me at times. I never let anything grate on my nerves for long but thought it would be fun to vent them periodically in my blogs. I also feel that good things, the cheese in life, should be acknowledged as well. I’m even going to throw in a bit of dessert, a piece of virtual chocolate, something that made me laugh or smile just a bit more than normal. If you’d like to read the past editions of Wine & Cheese just click HERE for all of the past postings. Sit back and join me now for the 83rd serving of some wine and cheese!

😦  My desk at the office looks like a tornado came through in the night.  This is not normal for me, I’m too OCD about order at the office, but lately we have just been so busy and I have too many projects going at once to keep up with the ‘hoarder’ appearance.  I plan to attack it Friday and get things back in order.

😦  The NextRadio app is not available with Verizon.  It uses way less battery and data (no doubt why it isn’t yet supported) and would be huge for me when walking so I could listen to K-LOVE.  Bad form, Verizon Wireless, really bad form!

😦  Nothing says “areyoufreakingkiddingme” like having your nose running, racing to grab a tissue, and you pull back a half inch wide piece because it tore apart. Grrrr….

🙂  Isn’t life awesome when there really isn’t much to complain about?  My ‘wine’ list is pretty slim, full of light-weight stuff.  I like it!

🙂  My office may not be in great order but it smells amazing!  My tart warmer is loaded up with Caribbean Teakwood scented wax and it is filling the room with a kick-butt aroma.

🙂  I changed the layout and over all look of my blog.  If you usually read this via email stop by and take a look.

🙂  The weather here has been outstanding!  I prefer to sleep with the windows open, drifting off to sleep to the sounds of crickets, frogs, and other  night creatures.  Inhaling the lavender oil for my sleep aroma therapy is also a huge help.  Menopause isn’t winning the sleep battle, this one is all mine!

🙂  My new planner from Erin Condren came this week and I LOVE IT!!!  Use that link and get $10 off because of my referral.  You can personalize them and they have other awesome stuff too.  It is one of this week’s big high moments!
