Wine & Cheese ~ 96th Serving

wineandcheese2Welcome to Wine & Cheese, my weekly, Wednesday whine session.

Most Wednesdays I devote a blog to whining. Despite being a really happy, positive person, I do have things that annoy me at times. I never let anything grate on my nerves for long but thought it would be fun to vent them periodically in my blogs. I also feel that good things, the cheese in life, should be acknowledged as well. I’m even going to throw in a bit of dessert, a piece of virtual chocolate, something that made me laugh or smile just a bit more than normal. If you’d like to read the past editions of Wine & Cheese just click HERE for all of the past postings. Sit back and join me now for the 96th serving of some whine and cheese!

 WINE WHINE

😦  I am ready for a brain explosion.  I’m doing these darn skills in my sleep now, in my nightly dreams.  Currently I hold my CNA – Certified Nurse Assistant.  I went last week to test for my STNA – State Tested Nurse Assistant, so that I can not only work in assisted living but in long term care.  I messed up on one tiny little part of a skill and had to go back and re-take the skills portion.  The written I flew with a 94% but the skills don’t leave wiggle room, you have to hit the necessary items or you fail, and of the 5 randomly chosen skills you test on, missing just one thing on one skill sends you back to do it again.  Only they pick another random 5, one of which is the one you failed.  ARGH!  So I spent this past week studying the skills over and over again to take the test again this morning.  If I messed up anything this time I am just going to remain a  CNA for now and come back later.  Either way I’m assisting nurses in caring for elderly who need that TLC and I’m all over it.

😦  Creepy dream last night, that my father passed away.  This disturbed me greatly.  I need to go spend some time with him.  It creeped me out probably because someone close to me found out her blood levels for her cancer are elevated, which means despite a clear scan, the cancer is making a come back.  This will be round 6, and we’re ready for a miracle so if you are a prayer warrior type, now would be a great time to be hitting your knees.

😦  Just once I’d love to finish a cup of coffee without having to warm it up because I got busy and it got cold.

CHEESE

🙂  Our awesome church sent folks on the ground to check out Compassion International to be sure it really is legit before we committed to sponsoring kids.  Upon confirmation and even meeting some of the children people in our church already sponsor (yes they actually went to Nigaragua armed with information on various kids and it’s all verified), the church committed to us all sponsoring 4,000 children.  They had NO idea how on board everyone would be and we ended up sponsoring close to 6,000!  Today in the mail we received the welcome packet about our little girl the Diva Den is sponsoring. And I just learned that we have a group going from church late this year so I may have to see if I can raise the money to go along and actually meet this child!

🙂  My small group meets tonight for our church Brave Journey and I’m super excited about that.  It got very deep in our personal work this week, so I’m curious to see where the group work takes us this evening. I cannot talk about the others, because what is spoken in the group remains in the group, but I will share about my own journey in a post on my Broken Angel blog later.

🙂  I know I am a fruit loop, but I love seeing dandilions in the yard because it means SPRING is here!  Okay over that, they can all go now.

  1. LOL – the cartoon. I just don’t answer the phone anymore. anybody who knows me and needs me badly enough will leave a message. My grandma used to blow a whistle into the phone. LOL

your group sounds amazing! And bravo for sponsoring a child!! We love writing to “our” little girl in El Salvador. It’s so great for the kids to see another culture and know how blessed they are to be living in a country like Canada. I’d love to do a Mission Trip there too.
