Have I Mentioned I HATE Camping?

You may recall that last October I went camping…for the first time in a few decades.  I grew up traveling this country by way of camp grounds.  I loved it, love the memories, but truly HATE to camp.  The Count convinced me to camp this past October, and it actually wasn’t bad!  However, I had no desire really to do it again, it would simply have been a family tradition of his so I would have gone along.  Thankfully he ditched me.

*Squirrel moment* (that means an ADD driven side thought) – BEST thing the ex-husband, Mr. Wonderful, and the Count did for me was toss me aside.  I’d have not known what it was like to be with The Biker otherwise.  I have landed such an awesome man now. One who has shown me what weak individuals the Count and all others before him.  He encourages me to be ME and loves my very strong personality.

This past weekend I once again found myself on the back of the bike, only this time in the cold and RAIN.  Yes, the Marvelous princess rode in the rain this time, well over 100 miles.  These guys are 1%ers, hardcore bikers, they ride in the rain.  And then…we camped. On the property of another chapter’s club house we pitched tents and campers, and I found out what hypothermia feels like.  It was flipping C-O-L-D despite the blankets etc. and I was sleeping alone until about 5am.  My legs were cramped from cold, especially when I suddenly had to pee.  I nearly gave up trying to pull my boots on to go outside.  When I came back it was no better.

The best part? I HAD A FREAKING BLAST!  Rain and cold, so what? I spent a good deal of time that night hanging in the club house with the other women, and I might have had a few shots.  Actually, okay, I DID, it was anti-freeze you could say, against the coming cold sleeping in a tent.  I got a tad out of control at one point, but my honey didn’t handle it the way old Lord Voldemort would have.  He pulled me aside, and quietly, lovingly, told me that I needed to dial it down a bit, it wasn’t acceptable in the current location.  I was mortified to think I had done anything that would reflect badly on him, darn near cried in fact.  But he was all gentleness and love, reassuring me I was fine, and that any other location I could be crazy like I had been.  Just not here and not now.  The near tears were about more than feeling I disappointed him (which he says not at all) it was also the gentleness of his voice and touch when talking to me.  I am not at all used to that.  He is not a small man, but a very gentle giant, and that much tenderness shown to me took me apart inside.  If you piss him off then heaven help you, but he isn’t easily angered by me at all. In fact he tends to laugh and find my fits entertaining.  Unlike the ex-hubby, I can flip off my Biker and he smiles.  He doesn’t find it insulting or disrespectful because he knows I’m being funny, he thinks I’m cute as hell when I do it, often replying to it with “who loves ya baby?”.

If it calls me ‘Beautiful’ once, he says it a few dozen times a day!

I am soaking it all up like a sponge as one very starved for true love and REAL affection.

Hopefully, we keep this camping  thing to a minimum.

I hate camping.

Wine & Cheese ~ 44th Serving

Welcome to Wine & Cheese, my weekly, Wednesday whine session.

Every week on Wednesday I devote a blog to whining. Despite being a really happy, positive person, I do have things that annoy me at times.

I never let anything grate on my nerves for long but thought it would be fun to vent them periodically in my blogs.

I also feel that good things, the cheese in life, should be acknowledged as well.

I’m even going to throw in a bit of dessert, a piece of virtual chocolate, something that made me laugh or smile just a bit more than normal.

WINE

:(   It would be really special if I could just BREATHE out of both nostrils.  We’ve had a really nasty cold/flu bug move through the house.  It came in with the little ones I watch and has spread like it’s paid to take us out.   For a week and a half now I’ve been so stuffed up and blowing my nose that it is raw.  Finally feeling about 75% human again but really tired of this and it can  pack up and move on!  I’m tired  of being sick!

:(   The weather around these parts is not doing a lot to help with the misery.  It is cold and rainy.  You know that misty kind of rain!  It is so dismal outside that I’d far rather it was snow (I know, I cannot believe I just said that) so it looked nice.

:(   Did  I mention I’ve had it with being sick? Okay just checking.

:(    Spam!  As in emails.  I must have about 200 hundred long lost relatives in third world countries that have left millions to me if I just allow some stranger in a bank somewhere to have all my information they’ll transfer those funds to my account.  Need Viagra at really cheap prices from Canada?  How about imitation Rolex watches?  Yep I got ya covered….NOT! Drives me insane.  OH and let us not forget that the hottest, single babes in my area have been revealed to me, for a small fee.  Dunno, guess it’s head hunters for hotties running that one?

CHEESE

:)   As of the start of this post, the misty rain has changed over to snow!  Just gentle little flakes but certainly better than rain any day when it comes to my mood!

:)   I have new jammies!!!  If you know anything about me over the past nearly 2 years it is that I LOVE  pajamas.  I have 2 new pair, much needed for the winter and so very comfy.

:)   I’ve been able to enjoy the therapy of crochet this past week!  I love working with my hooks and yarn, and have a project going that I am very pleased with, and it is such a relaxing feeling as the stress of life disappears one stitch at a time.

:)   Sitting in the quiet of the morning, both trees are lit, baby is sleeping, I’m showered, face painted, wearing comfy jammies, writing and sipping a cup of hot coffee, watching it snow.  My life is very good!  :)

WINE

:(   It is absolutely dreary outside today!  Rainy, overcast, gray, trees are bare, it just isn’t much to look at!  I don’t mind rain, I get that we need it, but this is the 3rd day of this yucky-ness, I’m over it, where is the sunshine?

:(   I’m really disappointed in the stores that are opting to open on Thanksgiving.  I remember growing up that nothing was open on Sunday or holidays.  You had to plan  ahead.  In the name of profits more and more places are remaining open on Sundays and now holidays.  Shame on those stores that are making employees come to work to open a store at 9pm or 11pm or even midnight!  Open Black Friday at a DECENT hour, people  will still come and shop.  Let the employees enjoy their day with their families.

:(   The  baby I watch has the sniffles bad today.  Poor thing, I have to keep wiping her nose which is less than thrilling to her.  Makes drinking her bottle a real chore for her too.  I feel so bad for her.

The little butterball I babysit

:)   Despite her little  cold/sniffles issue, she is a happy baby!  She is just adorable and makes me smile.  I love watching her, she gets that ‘baby fix’ filled for me until my kids start having children of their own.

:)   I had a wonderful day Sunday with my honey, Steve.  I usually hate shopping, but with him it is fun.  Throughout the day  little touches, kisses, and him holding my hand let me know that I am special to him. I never need to seek reassurance of his feelings, I am told, every day multiple times a day.  One of my favorite quotes from The Single Woman: “Sometimes life sends us people  who don’t love us enough, to remind us of what we are worthy of”.  I’ve been loved in the past, but not nearly enough, and not nearly as much as I loved in return.  To finally be loved as I am worthy, well that is reason to smile!

:)   Pancakes on a chilly, rainy day!  Nothing says cheer up and smile like a hot breakfast!

WINE

:( This morning I get up and what do I discover?  Facebook has made changes, AGAIN.  You know, if it isn’t broken, don’t try to fix it.  Really, it is JUST fine and we do n0t need anymore  bells and whistles to complicate things.  PLEASE LEAVE MY FACEBOOK ALONE!!!!

:(   I am SO sick and tired of rain already.  It makes for a dreary day outside which only makes for crabby kids inside this little home daycare I run.  It makes it harder to be motivated to go out and walk in the evening.  I mean seriously, I might actually MELT out there, I am  THAT sweet!

:(   I think I may actually NOT have allergies and MIGHT have a cold.  Though I’m in heavy denial.  Also, I do not feel bad, just tired.  The nose is running (thankfully there is Musinex D), my voice is quickly becoming raspier as it fades (my daughter finds this to be amusing) so I am really not sure it IS a cold.  All this rain could  mean the mold count is up.  Either way, it makes me irritable.  Which isn’t pretty. Guess it is better than it hitting me next month when I’ll be camping with the Count and his family.  Communing with nature in a tent is NOT my idea of camping, mine is more like Holiday Inn Express, so this will be interesting.  Oh I grew up camping, not a stranger to it so don’t tell me how cool it is, I know better.

:(   While I’m on the whine bottle, might as well toss in the arthritis that is acting up because of the weather.  It is in my neck, feet and hands, though this round the hands are by far the worst.  Very difficult to un-hook child car seats with it sometimes.  Grrrrrr……

CHEESE

:)   Our television/cable system is so darn smart!  I set it up to record/DVR The Backyardigans every day at 4:30pm for the kids.  I told it to just record the series.  I had no idea that when I said ‘series’ it would record it anytime it is on that channel, so it grabs 2 episodes a day, one at 8am and one at 4:30pm!  This rocks, even I love this show!  Without a doubt one of the best kid’s shows ever!

:)   AVON – I  know you are all likely tired of hearing about it and the great deals, but I LOVE this business! I am having so darn much fun and actually starting to grow my business.  I cannot wait to see how far I can go with it, after finding so many women that are working for themselves through Avon and making fantastic money doing so!  Oh and yes, a few good men.

:)   PREMIERE WEEK!!!  Finally my favorite TV shows are back for the new season!  I am loving having a reason to curl up with some popcorn and watch TV again.  There are even a few new  ones that look promising.

:)   Kindle and library books? You betcha!  Seems you can now borrow books from the library via your Kindle and Amazon.com!  I am SO excited,  though my own library doesn’t appear to have this feature yet. I am hopeful they will soon. Click Here for more information!

:(   INSOMNIA!!!  I am exhausted.  I keep waking up at during the night, unable to go back to sleep for hours.  Needless to say when the alarm clock goes off, I’m dead to the world.  This has to stop.  I need my rest.

:(   RAIN – enough already!  The yard is a swamp, there is no place that isn’t muddy, and the kids want to go out to play.  Cannot even play on the deck if it’s raining!

:(   There is no more chocolate syrup in the Diva Den!  Seriously this is on the level of a crisis.  5 women, hormone surges of PMS and no chocolate syrup.  See the issue? Critical!

:(   Okay, I am SO over the rain.  I realize that everyone in my general area is likely whining  about this, but too bad, so sad, it is my post and I’m in a mood today.  I AM SICK OF RAIN!!!  SICK of being stuck inside with these adorable kids that just want to be outside.  I am sick to death of wading through a huge puddle to get anywhere once I leave the car.  I am sick of wondering if the puddle ahead of me on the road is going to be more high water than my car can safely maneuver through.  I am beyond tired of being woken up by thunderstorms all night.  The weather radio doesn’t even phase me anymore I hit it and roll back over.  I am fed up with it all.  Okay, I feel much better now.

:)   I am having SO much fun doing this daycare thing.  I have the  cutest kids to watch and they are entertaining.  Not to mention I’ve lost 5 pounds already just chasing and lugging around the 2 year old.  It isn’t the ideal job for my line of skills, but for now it is paying my bills and keeping me amused.
